Couldn’t someone just build a Mastodon UI with an algorithmic feed, since all the histories and metadata are publicly accessible?

Much of the core community doesn’t want algorithmic moderation and amplification, but I’d wager a good number of users would be interested.

@kwerb Hi Kevin, hope you’re well, it’s been too long! As a stopgap or workaround, try @tootapp, which lets you follow the local and federated feeds of various topic-oriented instances to which you don’t belong. It feels a lot like following topics on “le oiseau” 🐦. By doing that and by following hashtags of interest, you can create a very custom, algorithm-like experience that incorporates serendipity while eliminating third-party or AI guesswork. You’re curating it yourself, just for you. 🥳🤩

@denise @tootapp oh I’m not asking myself for an algo feed here. I just think there will be demand if the numbers keep growing.
