When I first joined Mastodon, I thought that I would keep my account largely politics-free, because the political nature of Twitter had become so stressful for me. But it turns out that that's really hard to do when you value the existence and visibility of people whose lives are inherently political.
Silence feels way too much like compliance for me to be comfortable with it, especially when so many Mastodonians fall all over themselves to praise this platform's progressiveness.
