@lirontocker That's an apt distinction!

I do see the value of an algorithmic timeline - filtered, sorted, categorized, and yes, ordered. As I follow more people to gain more insights and perspectives, that is unavoidably required.

But it should be in my service, under my control, transparent (Open Source), and not to drive engagement for advertisers.

@larsmb @lirontocker Essentially the corporate version of social media chose the easy and dirty way of increasing engagement: throw any topic at people whatever sticks.

Twitter chose (old, new whatever) the less moral way to run a social media site. They say this only makes sense for profits, but its nothing but a moral choice. And slowly but surely we see the negative changes in society...
