@signalblur I’m struggling to figure out how to get into infosec and cybersecurity without a technical background. Do I need a technical background? If so, where would I start? Or, are there roles for non-technical people like me?

@NatSecBec @signalblur My very personal opinion on this: there are largely nontechnical roles, but if you don't have a technical background, you can't talk to technical people easily.

Some of the issues in security are extremely technical and it would be good to understand them, at least superficially (no one can understand everything deeply).

To start, if you want to be more nontechnical, you could introduce a secure development lifecycle in a smallish project.

@sten that's good feedback - thank you! I've worked in fintech software in the past, so I have a surface-level understanding of some things. But I definitely want to understand more. I've found a couple cybersecurity 101 classes that I'm looking into.
