Still getting to know the Minolta Fantasy card. It seems to want the subject in the middle and to have a high contrast and busy background. I feel compelled to tone these shots maybe to compliment the 'whacked on the head' vibe of the Fantasy card?

@acoil OK now I really want to know what a Minolta Fantasy card does! I've googled but TBH I'm baffled...

@moragperkins There were a few Minolta film cameras that took cards to add features like flash bracketing or sport mode. This at first smelled like a cash grab to sell a crippled camera and charge for features but now I see it as a way to offer features too complex or crazy to bake into every camera.

You can have a pretty simple camera that can still do complex stuff.

Like the Fantasy card. It kicks the focus at the end of the exposure for that whacked on the head look.

@acoil that is properly, properly bonkers and I love it πŸ˜†
I do hope it’s a 1990s thing because that sounds perfect for the #1990sCameraChallenge #ShittyCameraChallenge
@acoil oh, here, talking of obscure Minolta features, have you met @Atlonim ?
@moragperkins @acoil Never have I been more complimented by being called 'an obscure Minolta feature' 🀣

@moragperkins @Atlonim @acoil oh, hey, I have one of those. Or rather a Minolta Dynax 7000i. The fantasy card sounds more fun than my rather mundane close-up, portrait and highlight cards. Never saw much use for them, but perhaps I should reconsider.

@Stratski @moragperkins @Atlonim That Portrait card sounds interesting. I read that it uses the autofocus info to pick a shallow depth of field, but not too shallow. I have one I'll play with later. One weird gimmick at a time for me.

I also have the multiple exposure card that will take up to 7 multiple exposures and even do a fade out effect- super cheesy!

Between this thread and @heikor143 with his snazzy vintage digital my timeline is about 80% Minolta today!

@moragperkins 😁 I also use Minolta slr (135film), a #Dynax500si and a #Dynax3L (fully automatic 😁 ).But I'm not a so called 'fan', I shoot on canon & many others, too πŸ˜€
