• about 130,000 km² above the 2010s mean
• about 550,000 km² below the 2000s mean
• about 1,170,000 km² below the 1990s mean
• about 1,670,000 km² below the 1980s mean

@ZLabe while this seems like some obviously more bad news about the climate, is there any positive takeaway from the fact that it’s only 9th lowest and higher than 2010’s average? Or is this more attributable to just common year to year variations?
@NStar8 Yes, this is just attributed to the typical interannual variability - influence of recent weather conditions over the last 1-2 years (perhaps related to the persistent La Niña).
