Simon the Sorcerer released in 1993 and featured beautiful artwork, especially as you explored the forest area. Many characters to find and puzzles to solve.

It was fascinating to watch the animated wildlife that would swoop in or pop from behind a bush only to run off back into the scenery. The butterflies dancing around the flowers and the birds flying across the screen. It was these touches that made it magical.

@jameswoodcock I loved this game, especially the artwork. It was also very well written.

@jameswoodcock

Love the look, I need to check this one out some time!

@jameswoodcock I had Simon the Sorcerer on my Amiga 500+ and it was the first game I actually fell in love with. So much so that I backed up the 10 or so floppy disks it came on just in case 😅

@bitflipped you're lucky then, I had this on the Acorn Archimedes and came so close to completing the floppy disk version of the game, but disk 7 or something was corrupted 😭

Thankfully a year later had my first PC and the CD-ROM version... Phew.
