@GarethTheBike I’m seeing this in my music scene. Lots of independent musicians who are heavily invested in Twitter for promoting gigs & recordings want to leave Twitter but feel they can’t because they are so dependent on it for their income
@michellelaverick @GarethTheBike yes, such a good piece, I imagine some therapists feel trapped by the same cycle, and it's easy, but not compassionate maybe, to say well no one should rely on one tool.
i do wonder tho whether musician or therapist how you decide that tipping point into bots and trolls rather than audience has been reached
@counsellingkaren @GarethTheBike yep. Any musician is going to be multi platform at the end of the day. Previously I was active on FB+Twitter & passive everywhere else. Now I’m active on FB+Mastodon. I’m going to keep Twitter but just for promo gigs & recordings until such time I can walk away altogether…
