I had a conversation with another mom about all the activities her kids do (piano, soccer, voice lessons, ect) paired with her explanation that none of them wash their own clothes or can cook. They're being groomed for a life they can only live if they pay someone to help them.
There's nothing wrong with piano and soccer. Those are wonderful, enriching activities. But if your kid can't cook by age 15, you're setting them up to fail as an adult.
Even if you assume your kids will inherit enough generational wealth to always employ servants (which is a stretch for most Americans), your kid needs to know how to take care of the basics like feeding themself and washing their clothes.
