@rbreich FWIW, I think simple majority would be a tragedy, because it would let each state's independent voting and voter suppression laws have a larger impact on the outcome. Giving states a proportional weight via electors is probably still a good idea. But votes should be allocated proportionally, instead of all-or-nothing, to properly represent the mixed nature of the population and make all states important to campaign in and for.
