Happy to see more and more friends here. Deactivated at the other place. It isn’t that I want to be insulated from the brutal reality of the news but I need some space to process when I hear about the daily horrors.

Not being sarcastic. The constant flood of information about preventable tragedies derails me to the point of not being able to act or help anyone.

I know we’re always under threat but it’s hard to watch the timeline of pain after horrific events.

@amythicwitch there's a difference between being aware and self flagellation.

@amythicwitch I've been muting *so many words* and hashtags here. Also possible on birdsite, but takes approx. 5x more time and sometimes doesn't work anyway because algorithm must feed.

I totally want to be insulated from the brutal reality unless I can do something (which I hardly ever can). Give me a rainbow bubble with pictures of wolves and sunsets, Taylor Swift, writers and readers, beardo weirdos, and I'm happy.
