@maripuerta But also, more than anything, it is fueled by the Religious Right, the megachurches, the culture war which holds that all LGBTQA persons are *evil* as are *abortions*. The increase in guns, apocalyptic thinking, and white evangelical holy war has caused this increase. It's horrible.

@maripuerta When the hate speech turns to action is where I have the problem. Don't get me wrong I abhor hate speech. I did however fight for this country, I believe that speech needs to be protected, even the most disgusting vile speech. When it is taken to action that is where it must be stopped. Just like yelling "fire" in a movie theatre. everything else can become that slippery slope that ends with outlawing speech of one group over another. Love of country demands this.
