Only yesterday, I was saying how hate speech leads to hate crime, especially at the moment towards the transgender community.

My understanding is they were organising a drag brunch to celebrate Transgender Day of Remembrance on Sunday. The police are treating it as a hate crime.
This rhetoric is not only going to kill young LGBTQIA & increase the rates of depression within that group, it has killed innocent LGBTQIA people.
Add in how Steven Fry was trying to say talk to those who are transphobic & repeated many of the dog whistles
that Terfs use, he failed and it seems to still fail to see how it attacks the LGBTQIA community as a whole, even if the thrust of the attack is the transgender community. Having a voice such as his repeating the absolute lies against transgender women means his voice is directly contributing to these events.
I'm sick of seeing my husbands right to exist being attacked.
I'm sick of seeing other transgender family and close friends right to exist attacked.
I'm sick of seeing the same language being used to attack trans people and the LGBTQIA community as a whole is the same language I grew up with in the 1970's & 80's.
To all my transgender family, to all my LGBTQIA family (I am bi,) I am sending love, and I will never be silent against the hate we face.
