Still trying to figure out how to get things to be seen here. Do I use hashtags? Do I use keywords while typing? #Imlost #lost #newhere #newbie

@Nanoficto92 Figuring it out myself too, but so far what I can glean is that hashtags help a lot. (Also capitalizing the first letter of each word in the hashtag is a norm here, to help those who use screen-readers.)

@Nanoficto92 Hey there, welcome to Mastodon! There are a number of tools at your disposal to be seen. The local timeline for your instance will display what you post to others who share it with you, while the federated timeline will show your posts to others from different instances. But in general, hashtags are your best bet for being seen.

@Nanoficto92 If I might suggest, you should look into clients like MetaText or Tusky for mobile. They will give you what's hopefully a more familiar interface and a smaller learning curve.
