Trump back on Twitter seems to me to be proof of the adage you can’t step in the same river twice. TikTok is moving inexorably to take over the ephemeral social space from Twitter and Facebook et al and he’s not there. There is no third rail to electrify the popularity of a septuagenarian bigot this time round now. Time moves on. But the fact that an individual who tried to overturn democracy and incited domestic terrorism is both at large *and* published by a16z approved goons is *wild*

@emilybell TikTok worries me. Having the CCP have de-facto control over such a huge platform is also terrible. It's like we never learn ...
@soozler totally agree - there’s a ‘what could possibly go wrong?’ vibe about it, yet it’s growth is head-scratching my high

@emilybell
His reality show has run its course. The media will keep paying attention to him so long as the ratings reflect their expectations. But his real support is gone forever, finally.

Elon's gambit with Twitter was a mistake and he and everyone knows it. At some point it will become too painful to keep it and he'll dump it off on someone else.
