I'm still liking Mastodon. It's starting to feel like this may become my primary microblogging place.

I like the structure. But I joined months ago and just jumped in on the first server that looked decent.

So what I've ended up with is my Home feed with all my buddies in, then the Local and Federated are quite similar. Just 'other people'.

Which is fine - but, to me, the Home server would work better if it reflected an interest or locality.

So I’m looking at moving to a home server that ‘works’ a bit better for me. Will give me a feed that is a little more relevant that it being simply a reflection of the Federated timeline. If you see what I mean.

A UK-centric one seems to make sense - but that said really the most important thing to me is the music side.

So a server that has a mix of music and musicians across a range of topics...

I can see a few chums have gone to mastodonmusic.social

Looking at its local feed it already feels a decent fit, the chap running it looks like a decent sort - so I think I’ll give that a try (and get some experience in moving servers)

Aware I could probably achieve a better curation using lists and following hashtags - but having a relevant home server feels tidy... 😉

@gribbles I'm been thinking might do similar, couldn't tell the difference between home and fed in the mas.social one.

I was looking at the datavis, ravenation, music, or mograph...

I think probably will go with a music one...

Have you had to re/ask people to follow you?

@gribbles How does server migration work? Do people need to re-follow you (and vice versa)?
