this is a project I'm working on that started as a project maybe a decade ago and every time I come back to it I start from scratch. It's kind of cathartic to redo everything and start again fresh, like social media I guess

I could see this made into a metroidvania style game where instead of upgrading, you have all those abilities from the beginning, you just have to learn how to use them and master them as you go, organically opening up the world.
@TetroniMike yeah! I'm totally on the fence on how I wanna deal with "powers" in this game, I really do love the idea of having everything available from the start and sort of teaching as you go with the level design, but I'm also really fascinated in making levels that get recontextualized every time you unlock something - might also be cool to give players the choice??
