My dream: that urbanists think as much about wellbeing in online spaces as they do about bike lanes and architecture.

@charlesincities I’m glad to learn about your work. Was just thinking about parallels between online & real communities when picking up some books at my local bookshop downtown (literally called “Main Street Books”). Could have ordered on Amazon, had delivered. Instead, traded convenience for community. Same as I’m doing by joining Mastodon. We forget about secondary, tertiary benefits that we give up when focusing solely on one outcome (convenience, cost, efficiency, etc.)
