Well, that's it. I'm done with the birdsite. I'll continue checking the account so I can try to connect with people moving from there using tools like fedifinder, and I may still need to tweet on a few brand accounts from time to time, but I'm no longer going to post anything from my personal account.
As soon as I toot this, I'm turning off the Mastodon Twitter Crossposter for this account completely. I don't want to give any impression of still being active there, or of endorsing the direction that platform has gone.
Hmmm. I may have deactivated the Mastodon Twitter Crossposter too quickly. Neither of those last two toots actually got posted there. Oh well, leaving in silence sends as much of a message as anything else.
Just requested what should be my final Twitter archive. Hopefully the system won't break before I get to download it.
@liampomfret it hasn't given me mine yet but it said could take 24 hours and I requested it maybe 20 hours ago
@whyisihere I've been requesting them on a weekly basis for a few accounts since Musk completed the purchase. It's typically taken between 24 and 48 hours to get them.
@liampomfret I also requested mine last night and haven't yet been notified it's ready to download
