One of my pals told me my Twitter comments were as viscous as AOC and Nancy Pelosi. I though everyone’s were like that! I just got used to it. As much as you can. It’s nothing short of astounding to me that I can just post and engage on here and people respond in a way that seems normal and real. The Twitter comments world is distorted and dangerous. I don’t see how twitter can be fixed. We’re better off here. ❤️
@kathygriffin This is what the Internet used to be circa '95 or '96. Real people having real conversations!
@atmanrising @kathygriffin Mastodon reminds me of the BBS (Bulletin Board System) community in the 1980s - decentralized but handles used across systems. Unfortunately you had to have a 1200 baud modem (or higher) and Commodore 64, Amiga or IBM to access in '80s. When a user started sexually harassing me over private messages on a BBS called Clear Thinking - the sysop ("SYStem OPerator") cut his access to me, and the rest of the BBS immediately. I like seeing that kind of attitude on Mastodon.
