Twitter cannot exist without a team of developers and engineers to keep it running 24/7 and I have a feeling Elon will soon realise this if he hasn't already

If I see how much work (love it though) it brings to only support ~100K people on a platform I don't wanna know the resources Twitter needs..

But the beauty of the #Fediverse is that I'm not doing it alone, not even by a long shot. It's more like every Fedi server admin out there is working for the fedi for free❤️ Haha, even paying for it

We don't 'work' for money but do it as a passion for you!  A way of contributing a little to a better use of the internet 💪

Yesterday 3 words stuck in my head that still are a little weird in my view: "social media company". It's what Twitter, FB and many others call themselfs but somehow the word "company" does not fit there somehow.

Social media shouldn't be a business but more like a public service. I mean even our government uses Twitter for giving out information, dafaq.

@stux well, a company can offer a public service. It depends on how healthy the market is. If a company plays in a free market system with rules and compating with other companies they will offers good prices and quality "public" services as they proffit off of the business.

Monopolies and corporatism are symptoms of a sick marketplace as they prefer profits more than quality, fair prices, etc.
