There are all these posts about how "liking" posts on mastodon doesn't affect post reach/engagement...

I was only ever liking posts because I liked them or as acknowledgement that I'd seen them.

Differing perceptions and uses of social media are a funny thing.

@talopine I know! And the ones about how strange chronological order is. I never stopped seeing them chronologically except when Twitter undid the setting periodically!

@talopine People who didn't know the chronological one existed and hadn't set up a sensible system of lists, I think! They're the same people who talk a lot about needing lists here.
@talopine it is like people from Twitter forgot how to be friendly and look for friends. They seem to expect an algorithm to tell them what to look at and who to follow. I can't blame then, I was never there, but apparently they also had to be on guard constantly looking for users, abusers, and people just trying to sell them something.
