I’ve seen a number of takes from journalist and journalist-close people mourning the decline of twitter as a place to see ‘what people are talking about’ and to find stories, which if they only could see it, is a colossal condemnation of the state of their industry.
(I say this as someone who got paid $150 a go for cooked essays in The Guardian back in the salad days, but look, I’ve done far worse things for less money)
