A week or so ago when I decided to try this out, I had no idea what to do. So I just picked the one @jamesgunn was on, since his posting on here is what pulled me in in the first place. 🤷♂️

ianhillmedia@DelReid It’s not unusual to switch servers after you’ve been here for a bit. Two Qs to consider when picking a server: 1. Where is my community? You might look for a sports server; I don’t think there’s a Bills or WNY server yet, and I would not launch one; 2. Do the regulations and guidelines on this server allow me to have the experience I want?
@ianhillmedia yeah I read about changing servers. Seems like a whole process, but that’s a bridge I’ll probably cross eventually. Who knows

I ended up on IOC.Exchange as it is part of the infosec realm. The rules are reasonable, and the admin/mod team are good.
So far all cross server discussion/interaction has been great too.

Bruuuce@DelReid Cross server searching is the achilles heel of Mastodon, so I have accounts on multiple domain oriented servers. One for tech, one for Bills, ...
