Sharing some resources about #postCOVID risk. I have absolutely relied on #MedicalTwitter/#MedTwitter and #ScienceTwitter during this pandemic — which, I reiterate, is not over. Sharing here so I can still find this after the #twitpocalypse (#twitastrophy?). Any suggestions about who to follow here greatly appreciated. Where do I find #MedicalMastodon?

“We knew COVID, even « mild » COVID could cause clots, heart attacks, strokes, and ultimately death since 2020. Seeing a lot more cases of clots in the last few weeks. Here’s a real quick 🧵”

Telling my patients who’ve gotten COVID to take seriously any #cardiovascular symptoms. Even if their #covid was mild and they think they’re too healthy for anything bad to happen.

If You’ve Had Covid, Watch Out for Stroke Symptoms

Several studies now show an elevated risk of heart problems during and after an infection with SARS-CoV-2.

@DrOrna as you know this is what happened to me. TIA and dissection of carotid artery 4 months after COVID that was considered mild in that I did not end up in hospital. I was even being monitored but no one knew anything then it was Mar-July 2020. Truly terrifying. And I think now lots of people are popping off with strokes and heart attacks that are related to COVID but not being counted as such. I am lucky, healing and recovered mostly after 2+ years w yoga Qigong & now cardio.
@TheUnadaptedOnes I do know. Thank you for sharing your story so publicly. I believe it will save lives.
