I have better pictures deep on my camera roll, and maybe I’ll dredge them up later. This is from the olive tree in my backyard – yes, we can grow olives very well in Oregon. A tea made of the leaves taste kind of like artichoke. Grow food not lawns.

@DrOrna Just put up a pound of olive leaf tincture to macerate yesterday. Studies show olive leaf can lower blood pressure and may lower ldl cholesterol. Or so I’m told.
@cholla45 yes! I need to dive deeper on olive, but that’s what I’ve been taught. Plus, they’re beautiful trees and make beautiful wood and delicious olives!
@DrOrna Thanks, I don’t have Covid but will check it out. I use a few herbal tinctures already 😄 #PlantMedicine
@chiptopian I need to do a post on the medicine of all of the leaves. Good for so many things! Glad you’ve got the pharmacy going there! #PlantsMedicine
@DrOrna
Is this a vitamin d ad? 🤔
@ModernDarkAge I’m sorry, I don’t understand your question.
@DrOrna
I don't understand the mechanism. 😬

@ModernDarkAge It’s laid out in the introduction and discussion sections. Basically, multiple mechanisms, as is the case for many additional plants.

Why did you bring up vitamin D, though? Or call this study an ad?

@DrOrna
Oh, because olive oil is used in vitamin d supplements. Some vitamins, like vitamin d, are fat soluble & must be combined with fat in order for the body to absorb them.
@ModernDarkAge the study is about olive leaf, not oil. And what made you ask if it was an ad?
