Shari Spiewak@CrisLeeMaza I had that problem, too. Things that helped: Make sure you’re searching under the “All” search option. (I had to turn my device horizontally for it to appear.) Also, it was suggested to me to try searching on the Mastadon site in a browser instead of in an app. Good luck!
Arthur Jones Jr@CrisLeeMaza When I put your name in, nothing came up. The search is case sensitive and goes by what you put in. There is a work around. I have to find the instructions. Will send.
Trish Hepworth@CrisLeeMaza @damonyoung I have zero idea - but I’ve had more success when searching for people’s full address - eg including their server. There’s still one person I can’t find - wondering if their server is having a hard time today, am going to try again tomorrow

You can click follow from there, their server will ask where is your account, and send the follow request to your server. You can make this process more transparent with the firefox addon : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/mastodon-simplified-federation/
