went to buy some Friday adult beverages and realized as soon as I got up to the counter that I traded in my driver's license (and main photo ID) yesterday and didn't have another on me 
like I understand it, but it's still kinda stupid that you have to surrender your license to get a new one, especially since it can take *weeks* to get a new card in the mail
CabinLoon@headclouded Yeah, that doesn't seem right. Here they punch holes in your old one and give you a piece of paper, and you use both of those as ID until the new license arrives.
@CabinLoon it might be a Canadian thing, or at least a BC and Ontario thing - technically you aren't allowed to have more than one driver's license, I just wish it wasn't my main ID! I do get the temporary piece of paper, though.
