I’m sorry but the fact that the lowest paid man who may not play a second of the comp is paid just under the highest paid woman (£30k / £31.5K) is still frankly disgraceful.

ECB freeze Hundred salaries for 2023 in both men's and women's competitions https://www.thecricketer.com/Topics/thehundred/ecb_freeze_hundred_salaries_2023_mens_womens_competitions.html #WomensCricket #MastodonCricket #Cricket

@adelemitch Agreed, I just wish the experiment would end and they promote the #T20Blast introducing a women's version to run alongside the men.
@mikejelfs but if the ECB thought that would have worked, surely they would have done that instead? Personally, I'm all for making it a Women's only comp as it has done wonders for them & done nothing for the Men's except make people angry (but that will not happen either). This new Draft they are introducing for Women next year is going to ruin some teams too. Shame as it was The Hundred that made me fall in love with Cricket too.
@adelemitch thanks for the response, the ECB wanted a tournament that could be available on Free to Air TV, as the T20Blast was sold to Sky, the Idea of introducing a new comp with franchises was the solution. The T20 format is played now at all levels whereas the hundred has gained no real traction. Agree that it has helped the women's game but I think the T20 format could have worked equally well if not better. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of years.
