I'm worried for other management folks watching what Elon is doing and thinking "this guy knows things, I'll do the same".

Gates, Ellison, Jobs, Jack Welch, Elon... There is a long history of evil a-holes being worshipped for their proximity to great innovations. "He's a prick. He's successful. If I'm a prick, I can be successful."
Wrong message for the kids.
@drl Yup and there are a lot of great and successful leaders who don't appear so much because they are not narcissistic assholes like the others.
@Moke I think seeing such startling negative effects follow so swiftly will help prevent this kind of behavior from spreading quickly.
@hutchcodes My fear is that Elon burns a lot of money (because he can) and ends up being successful with "Twitter 2.0". A lot of people will say that he did what was right and that "the ends had justified the means".
@Moke I hope not. I'm imagining him owning something like myspace when this is all over. Everyone is surprised when they find out it still exists.
@Moke Though maybe this is the cheapest way the far right could think of to build themselves a social network 😂
