I’m going for a walk and I need a playlist, so let’s play a game (borrowed from a friend elsenet). If you’re reading this, name a musical artist you like, and I’ll pick a favorite song of theirs to stream. If I don’t know them or can’t recall any specific songs, I have to listen to three of their top songs off Apple Music and pick a favorite from among those. All genres are fair game.
@lauraintheory buffalo tom
@IanThistlethwaite I’d never heard of these guys, and I can’t believe I missed them until now! Great stuff. Chose Late at Night, For All to See, and All Be Gone; slight edge to the last of those. Thank you!
@lauraintheory I really loved a couple of their records when I was fifteen. I believe the singer is an estate agent around Boston these days. They were never massive butt hose of us who like them know we've terrific taste! Glad you enjoyed :)

@lauraintheory
The Tourists

Or, if it's strictly an individual, Neil Innes

@stevenheywood I got to this after I’d already called it a day, but I’ll give both a shot next time! Thank you!
@tommortonsmith I saw this too late to get to them today, but will queue some songs up for next time. I remember having vaguely positive associations the 1990s, but no specific songs come to mind, so I’ll have to see what jumps out at me now.
@lauraintheory They make for surprisingly good work out tunes for some reason.
@lauraintheory
The Dead South
@occamsrazor That was very dark and also very catchy! Of In Hell I’ll Be in Good Company, Banjo Odyssey, and Gunslinger’s Glory, the first is the one still sticking in my head.
@lauraintheory I am a fan of the Black Crows. Chris Robinson has a great voice
@Calgarygirl2023 Ooh, yeah. My knowledge of their catalog isn’t deep, but I love a few of their tracks, especially (predictably) “Hard to Handle.”
@lauraintheory She talks to Angels
@Calgarygirl2023 I thought about picking that one! Love it too.
@lauraintheory The one and only Queen of Vancouver Island, Carolyn Mark
@blankfrank Intriguing, I’ll have to check her out next time! Thank you!
@lauraintheory This is the Kit, School of Seven Bells, Yes
@AggyKins Ooh. I will give these a whirl soon. I have an easy pick for Yes (Owner of a Lonely Heart—I was a young kid back when it was playing everywhere all the time, so it’s carved deep into me), but the others will be a new adventure. Thank you!
@lauraintheory I was greedy and picked 3 ☺️
I look forward to checking out the other suggestions 🎶🎶
@lauraintheory @AggyKins probably a bit late, but given the parameters I can’t resist a mention of Lee Morgan.
@knirirr @AggyKins Ooh, this is a great one. I love him on Coltrane’s Blue Train, but I don’t know any of his own stuff. I will get back to you!
@lauraintheory @AggyKins Totem Pole, Gary’s Notebook, Ceora andCornbread are some which spring to mid as some worth checking out.
@knirirr @lauraintheory Look forward to checking that out
@lauraintheory Youngblood Brass Band
@edinel Added to the queue, thanks!
@lauraintheory Brand New Heavies.
@aelman Ooh, I know I’ve heard and liked these guys, but no specific songs are coming to mind, so I’ll have to add them to the queue to explore more. Thank you!
