There is nothing unclear about the threat to democracy by Republicans, even though we’ve escaped the most pressing threat for now.

If a people don’t choose their own representatives, then they’re not self-governed, which means they are not free.

Votes for the GOP are votes to never vote again. Rather, they’re votes to be told what to do by people who have appointed themselves one's overlords. Nobody who genuinely believes in freedom affiliates with the GOP anymore. Nobody.

Republican voters should care about this, too, and thwart this large wing of their party or better yet, leave it altogether. Someday, you might change your mind about how you want to vote. Someday, you might not agree with the party. Someday, your kids might not. It would be good to make sure there are free elections then.

The Right’s Only Regret About Trumpists Is That They Lost-

Well said. Pundits and politicians underestimated voters' ability to hold more than one idea at a time, yet again. The election showed that voters don't want our democracy blown up. Refusing to accept Trump's loss in 2020 became a clear litmus test for a candidate's credibility. They have to abandon autocratic wishes or lose.
