@clpolk This isn't something that's taught, and should be: at the tiny level of a couple of friends and at every larger level, communities don't build themselves. Like any relationship with people they're work.
@clpolk to add on, I think there’s a tendency toward a fallacy that it should just magically carry itself, because often the experience of formation or welcome does feel spontaneously magical (cf the community where we met, both for the magic and the historical need for maintenance).
@mediapathic yes! I get that like magic feel but it’s also an inevitable product of where we were, and how that place is shaped by everyone who is a part of it, and that’s *why* that magic happens
