Mastodon does the social side of Twitter well but we still need a site where, if Ted Cruz gets kicked in the nads, you can search "Ted Cruz kicked nads" and reliably and immediately find someone who has posted that video

@mattlech Once you get enough cool people to follow, this is really enjoyable! I think if #TedCruz got kicked in the balls, you could search that hashtag and find it, but it may well not be as easy as it would be on Twitter, true

@mattlech Also, as for severs to possibly switch to. I'm enjoying socialism.social (it's DSA affiliated), but there's not a whole lot of people so your local timeline is not popping off. A lot of the 300+ people that are here seem like pretty cool lefties. Then of course follow whoever you want from other serves and you'll have a fun home feed :)
