Scotland is expected to be generating 41GW of renewable electricity by 2030. We are also expected to be consuming 6GW of electricity. That gives a net export potential of 35GW. That is the equivalent of todays UK total consumption. At todays prices of Approx £260 MWh. The estimated daily sales value would be around £220m. So, if taxed at 25% would generate £55m a day or £350m a week to the Scottish treasury. Any wonder the UK government is holding onto us so tightly!
@sgian_dubh Those are eye watering figures 😳
@sgian_dubh I have a massive fondness for #Scotland - can I have a passport?
@sgian_dubh excellent stats. Do you have a cast iron source(s) for those figures?🙏
