Ok followers & others. I need advice here!

I have tried to follow several people on other "instances", including a big tweeter on mastodon green (can get exact address). I cannot follow. Also someone told me they requested to follow me and I cannot see it.

Is this due to blocking by this server? Do I need to change to another account or create a second? Super frustrated and confused. Ta in advance.

This is the circular place I get to: follow instructions, copy, paste, land on same thing again.

@bostonoxford I think it will be your instance’s settings. Try setting up a burner account on another instance and seeing if that works?

@bostonoxford If indeed that’s the problem then it’s quite straightforward to move your account across to another instance.
