Tracks

It appears to be natural,
Not just for people,
To mark our paths.
You know it's true
If you walk with your dog.

While for dogs, it is smell.
People prefer a visual mark
Maybe a wordy sign
Or just a special glyph.

We track each other
Both through time and space
Using things we leave behind,
Official or off the cuff.

I hope that finds a way to survive.
