as hilarious as it would be to see mr musk's $44Bn go up in flames, I hope for the sake of artists who use Twitter to drive customers that it holds on in some form that doesn't screw them over
Sebin Nyshkim@spacekobold I would much rather it will result in artists realizing that Twitter absolutely rotted everybody's brains to the point it warranted repeated reminders that artists should be cooperating instead of antagonizing each other. It disconnected everybody from their craft for the numbers game, to push out "content" at an ever accelerating pace for the algorithm, not their followers
I hope for artists to get back in touch with their art and themselves and deprogram the shit it taught them

@DropTableFoxes to be fair, they're trying to find out which one their customers are getting on, and that's not a single straightforward answer
@spacekobold In terms of Mastodon though - a number of them are actively spreading the misinformation that you can't follow anyone from a different instance so if you wanted to use Mastodon you'd have to sign up to all of them.
