"Very clearly Brexit was an economic own goal," says IFS Director Paul Johnson.

"Economically speaking, that has been very bad news indeed and continues to be bad news."

@adambienkov

- Nobody in their right mind thought that the UK leaving the EU would be of benefit to the UK.

Add to this the fact that we ONLY have a 'Representative Democracy' so as to have a group of people in-the-know to make beneficial decisions on our behalf: WTF were they thinking?

#StandUP4UKDemocracy

@adambienkov It’s clear that by far the biggest economic own goal that the UK has suffered in the last 12 years has been to elect the Conservatives.
@andyfree @adambienkov
Keir Starmer not exactly encouraging of a healthy response to this reality.
@keir_starmer
@jamie @adambienkov agreed. He’s between a rock and a hard place.
@adambienkov but one that surely wins “most spectacular own goal of the century”

@adambienkov
It was always clear, but much more now, that a small number of people who could make money out of the UK leaving the EU have done so to the detriment of the country as a whole.

In order to do this we have been lied to, cajoled and manipulated.

It wasn't about taking back our borders or making our own laws or a European army. It was about making money.

The #Conservative Party and #Farage should hang their heads in shame with what it has done over the last twelve years.

@adambienkov

Every politician knows that Brexit was a really really bad idea... and regret it happening ... but for a variety of reasons... won't say it or try and reverse it.

Most... not all Politicians, truely are the stupidest of creatures
