Ransomware incidents in the United Kingdom are now so impactful that the majority of the British government’s recent crisis management COBR meetings have been convened in response to them rather than other emergencies.

@furtivedefect It's worth noting that the Scottish Government are ahead of the game with this. After the NHS Wannacry attack in 2017, a public sector action plan was initiated with the single aim of bringing the Scottish public sector up to a common security baseline. This has been very effective overall although it's impossible to prevent focused attacks by competent attackers as SEPA found out in 2020. Since that attack the Scottish public sector has focused on recovery preparedness.
@islander Good point. I wonder if NI has increased preparedness. I expect not as there hasn't been an executive in place for 5/6 months.
