Just started reading "A Mismatch of Salience" by Damien Milton. Anyone else here interested in reading it, have read it, etc?

Read it more than once, truly recommend it 🙂
@Cimaguire I'm definitely loving it so far. Wish I had access to all the pieces cited in it, though, so I could follow up on certain points.
@bookwyrm some papers are available for free. Use google scholar. Also most academics are happy to share their papers for free if you just email them and ask nicely🙂
@Cimaguire Good point. I should use some spoons to research these things.
@bookwyrm there are probably still pieces that I haven't read yet, but it's got some of the most important papers on autism yet published.

@ferrous It's been on my list for a long time. I've read about much of these topics before, but I really wanted to read Milton himself. Now I keep wishing I had the author in the room with me for follow-up questions.

The double empathy problem is so fundamental and so poorly recognized. What a revolution it would be, and how much happier autistic children and their families would be, if #autism professionals understood this.

@bookwyrm I feel lucky to have had Damian in the room on numerous occasions!

It's been great to see the double empathy problem slowly get more and more recognition, and more and more fascinating research to back it up.

Have you looked at Monday's (free, online) PARC conference?

@ferrous I'm jealous!

I wish I could do the conference. Unfortunately, the timing can't work for me. But thank you!
