You have to wonder at the insanity of building a hotel check-in system that can’t cope with two guests having the same name. 🤦‍♂️

@Richard_C Having the same name as my father, these problems are more common than one might think.

The most annoying is when tickets to airplanes get silently cancelled due to an assumption of them being duplicates.

@Richard_C Apparently there's a club for people named John Smith that has occasional conventions. I've always thought that must be a nightmare for hotel management.
@Richard_C I wondered whether it was two guests booked under the same name by the same person. Usually that would be for the same booking hence giving him both room keys. It sounds more like a fun yarn to tell on the breakfast TV sofa.
