If the bird site really is about to go down this week I really hope I can find more historians and politics scholars of modern Britain and Europe on here, as well as publishers and journalists with similar interests. @paolomonella My Twitter timeline is full of panic about it possibly ceasing to exist in the days or weeks ahead. I struggle to see it myself but who knows 🤷‍♂️

@GaryLove Thank you. I read news about its new owner trying to re-establish the company finances after buying it. Rumors also sometimes carry some truth (but not necessarily so on social networks 🐱 ). Thank you for sharing

@GaryLove Oops, #RIPTwitter made it as the 1st article in the Corriere della Sera webpage (https://www.corriere.it/; this is the main Italian newspaper). Maybe this is really happening. I am only surprised that people mourn about it, when there are #open alternatives like #mastodon
