I'm truly pained for the countless small businesses, authors/speakers, & free lancers who rely on Twitter to market their products or service. Twitter's death will devastate incomes for too many people to count.

All for the whims of a maniacal elitist. smh terrible.
#RipTwitter

@QasimRashid There is a lot of ppl that rely on twitter to communicate worldwide ... activists and freelancers. Seeing a big guy crushing the company he just acquired ... is funny ... but not funny !
@QasimRashid Everyone focuses on high paid developers but that’s not every employee. There are also vendors who sell to Twitter from service providers, hardware, paper, pens, you name it. If Twitter fails the damage will be extensive. All because of a Billionaire’s ego.
@QasimRashid yeah, this is what stands out to me too. He's dramatically torpedoing a major force in the world just for fun. It is one of the most feckless, selfish demonstrations of toxic power that i have ever seen.
@QasimRashid I’m not a big fan of conspiracy theories but, given the source of loans behind the acquisition, I do wonder if there was more than one maniacal elitist behind the destruction of this major means of communication.
@mosugerman @QasimRashid Agree. The glee in Musk's tweets tonight makes me wonder if this wasn't the plan all along. If so, what exactly did the Saudis and other investors buy?
@QasimRashid We’re all blaming Musk here. But why was Twitter available for purchase in the first place? Where was the responsibility of the previous owners and board?

Guess we can’t ask for much from a group that profited on hate and anger.
@QasimRashid And it likely will still not teach us to stop relying on these corporations for the essential infrastructure of our lives, because getting locked into some walled garden is just so much less effort than constantly thinking critically about the choices we make and living with the short-term difficulties of choosing the healthier options.
@QasimRashid I'm trying to get as many people as possible over here — I've got like one-sixth of my followers on Twitter onto Mastodon already which is not bad at all
@QasimRashid I think I know more business in TikTok and Insta.
