Because I don't know what this week's #FridayNightJukebox theme is yet... here is something random and awesome.

A lot of the first wave of Generation X would remember Yazoo the pop group... but there was also a seriously experimental side to them (in fact, one of the songs on their first album was so experimental as to be barely listenable). This, from their second album, is MUCH better.

Alison Moyet needed a great voice to carry this one off.

She carried it off.

Yazoo - Ode to boy

@Daveosaurus Oh wow I can't believe it's the song I was hoping it was... Was just talking about this one earlier, those lyrics, that sound. Soooo evocative. A favorite, then and now. As is Yaz(oo) the band.
@CJ_1014 I remember buying this album, on vinyl, back in the day. I knew the single ("Nobody's Diary") but hearing this for the first time was a revelation.
@Daveosaurus Yes - that got a lot of radio play over here (New York USA) and I just loved their sound, or variety of sounds - nice mix of genres.
King and Queen of the 12" Dance remix, too. Damn I loved dancing to them back in the day...
@Daveosaurus
Winter Kills on Upstairs at Eric's is another one I really like (but hell, I love ALL of it, lol.) Man that album was a powerhouse up here in New England college land...
