A reminder that we asked young people to turn out and they did. Latino voters leaned into Democrats. Black men voted overwhelmingly for Stacey. Abortion was top of mind for women. Black women continued to show up strong. The Party should not compromise on the priorities of those voters. They hold the future.

The Dem leadership doesn't seem to understand that people showed up to save Democracy and stop the GOP from banning abortion -- that people showed up DESPITE the performance of Biden and the Dems in Congress, not because of them.

@lukasiak @ifilljustice Even if this were true, I don't see how framing it this way is remotely helpful.

Lots and lots of people showed up for Democrats BECAUSE of Biden and the Dems in Congress.

The problem for Democrats has always been that to get their max potential turnout they needed voters to "fall in love" with their candidates while Republicans could count on their voters to "fall in line".

What gives me hope is that dynamic might be changing.

@lukasiak @ifilljustice I'm hopeful that the reason young voters are turning out in higher numbers is because they recognize that politics is about good governance and not a popularity contest.

Young voters showed up for the same reason that Trump voters show up.

Fear.

The difference is that young voters fears are rational.
