Am I crazy or does the Mastodon IOS app *not* support direct messaged at all? 🤔

@Francisck direct messages are the same as posts which have the permissions set so only those tagged can see and respond. Some apps, like Metatext (which I’ve been loving over the official app) separate this out into a separate view which gives it the more traditional DM feel.

@Francisck that’s great to hear! I believe Mastodon recently hired another mobile developer to focus more on improving the official app, but Metatext has been really solid. It doesn’t have some of the new Mastodon 4.x features yet, but it’s also open source so it’s only a matter of time I hope https://github.com/metabolist/metatext
