I love George Takei and I wish him the best always, but I don't need to recreate Twitter here. I'm good. I'm not looking to follow people who are building an audience here. I'm looking to connect with people I can build a community with. I'm going to do what I can to not fall into the trap of the audience/celebrity relationship on this site.

@joehumphrey Yeah... I added him... And one day after un-added him lol. Felt too much like birdsite. He's a really cool guy, but I have this feeling his PR team manages his account.

Different from Neil Gaiman (another cool guy, too). Neil shitposts personal things in birdsite, tumblr and here.

@joehumphrey I noticed sometimes someone I follow retoot some Takey's things... and for me it's okay to see his posts from times to times, but not ALL posts, EVERY time.
@captbarba79 I’m fine with that too. Nothing against the guy, I just don’t need to follow him
@captbarba79 that’s exactly what I mean! Neil is connecting with people, not building an audience
