@guinan Are they getting their shit together then?

I learned after the first kerfuffle went down that the admin had been writing some kind of "public dialogue" about ""cancel culture"" with the former mod who had been fired from Slate for trying to debate that white people could say the n-word, which cemented my opinion of suspending them, but perhaps if he's stepped down I'd reconsider it

@nev I don't know about that

its mostly that I'm giving them a second chance after seeing that other admins I trust have them either silenced or not blocked at all

I'm keeping an eye on them, if there are issues again back into the suspension box they go

@guinan blocking the entire journa.host domain because people there wrote news articles (including articles about people who didn't agree with the articles, and articles that link to bad things) seems a bit odd; that's kind of how journalism works? I don't think I'd want to live in a world where you couldn't write news about someone without their permission. The whole point of the web (*including* the fediverse) is that you can link to anything without asking anyone's permission...

I can't find any useful context about that case (since all the links in that thread are now dead), but there do seem to be lots of legitimately-useful journalists on that instance. Would you be willing to go down to a Silence instead of a Suspension?
