OK Apple peeps, what's the verdict on iOS 16? Safe to install at this point? Stable? Will I hate it when moving from iOS 15.7? Interesting that a brand new iPad today shipped with 15.6.1, is that a sign?
@alyssam_infosec the lock screen is different and you can personalize it more (I don’t). The Photos app is a bit different with the styles (filters) and libraries (memories). You can undo an iMessage within 2 minutes of sending it. Mail has a lot of fiddling differences for scheduling emails, undoing a send, reminders. Pretty sure there are more I haven’t noticed yet.
@alyssam_infosec I've been running 16 on my ipad and my phone since the day it shipped. No real problems. One morning I had to do a hard reboot of the phone but that may have been due to overheating on the wireless charger. Mostly I like it.
@alyssam_infosec Honestly I’ve been running on all of the 16 betas and I haven’t had many issues at all. Though I did see that they implemented a Rapid Security Response update, which installs immediately when downloaded. Not exactly sure how I feel about it lol
@alyssam_infosec the only issue I’ve encountered is some Bluetooth weirdness. After a few days it stops working with some of my items. I’ve mainly noticed the issue with carplay and Dynamic Lock on my work machine. I can fix it for a while by turning Bluetooth off and then back on from the Settings app (Control Center doesn’t fix it), or a reboot. The weirdest part is that it doesn’t seem to stop working with everything all at once.
@alyssam_infosec After 16 was released, my iPad only got updated to ~ 15.6 or something. A few days ago I saw 16 was available and updated. No problems thus far. I think they initially slowed release of 16 just to prevent servers from being overwhelmed.
